Department of Computer Science & Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, established in 2002, offers UG programs with an intake of 120 and PG programs with an intake of 18.

The Computer Science and Engineering Department has academic standards and placements as two key objectives. The intellectual property of our faculties has achieved educational standards.

The faculty strives to foster and encourage a teaching methodology that is both practical and theoretical in approach. This pedagogy has also led to successful training and placement of students.

We aim to inculcate in our students lifelong learning and leadership skills that will enable them to grow in their professions and advance to positions of responsibility.

The Computer Science and Engineering Department has an excellent placement record, and the placed students are at different prestigious software companies all over the world.

The CSE Byte Forum of the Computer Science and Engineering Department is a vibrant platform for the overall development of students.

The department has successfully conducted many research and consultation work for various industries.

Today we find that information technology has become overwhelmingly pervasive, while its parent, computing science, has become correspondingly hard to find. While many CS educational institutions have shifted focus from core CS and become speciality providers for the IT industry, or else, please permit me to say these mass producers of vocationally trained personnel, a few institutions continue to emphasize the pristine science underlying the diverse aspects of computing. This is the single most important attribute of the education offered here. Our department has remained true to the vision on which it was founded.

There are several ways to present the canonical core of computer science. Over the years, we have developed a distinct style and method that bridges the theory-practice divide while remaining grounded in theory-practice at its core. Technology changes rapidly, especially in the field of computing, whereas science, if it changes at all, does so much more gradually. Our understanding is that people who are clear and thorough about the fundamentals can adapt to rapid changes in technology relatively easily. We want the education imparted to our students to be the basis of a lifetime of learning.

Our Department has produced hundreds of professionals and has established a name for itself in the country and abroad. They have consistently excelled in the highly competitive industrial environment, winning Best Employer awards in top-ranking companies. I attribute this success to the winning combination of a dedicated faculty that works hard at imparting quality education, a well-planned syllabus, and last but not least, our students.

Learning is a continuous process that does not end with the acquisition of a degree, especially because steady and rapid advances in computing technologies shorten the life of tools and techniques prevalent today. Therefore, we do not aim to make our students walk manuals of any language or package. Instead, they are given a strong foundation in computer science and problem-solving techniques and are made adaptable to changes.

We believe that this approach to teaching-learning, coupled with practical experience gained during Industrial Training in reputed organizations, equips our students to handle the challenges posed by the software industry. I am confident that you will find our students worthy of your organization.

Facilities

LABORATORIES AND COMPUTER CENTRE

The CSE Department have a dedicated team of academicians with whose support consistently adds feathers in its cap with University Rank Holder. Our teachers presented number of research papers at National International Conferences in the past ten years won due recognition at all levels.

To add new thrust to the department various laboratories with 200 numbers of Pentium range computers with multimedia accessories 12 numbers of high end servers and campus LAN have been installed and configured to cater to growing needs of the students in their pursuit for knowledge and training.

Computer Centre

College have well established Computer Centre as a centralized facility for all college students with Internet and Intranet facility with web server ,e-mail server, database server , latest software’s, 24 Mbps D.S.L. connectivity available through  O.F.C. from main Exchange, Static I.P., Connected through LAN Covering complete college campus., video Conferencing Studio In Association with IIT Mumbai and other computational facilities.

Research Lab

The Research lab of CSE department is recognized by the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati for continuing their Ph.D research. This lab is well equipped with the state of art hardware such as LAN Trainer, Multimedia Trainers, DSP Kits, Robot  Structural Analysis, Stellaries Cortex kits, 24 Mbps D.S.L. connectivity available through  O.F.C. from main Exchange, Servers etc. and state of are software’s such as Oracle 11i, Matlab, SQL Server, NET Micro Framework Porting Kit v3.0, .NET Micro Framework SDK,  Academic Resource Kit .NET CD1 Teaching Resources,  Academic Resource Kit .NET CD2 Technology Resources, BizTalk Server 2006 Enterprise Edition etc.  Research scholar from all over the country are doing their Ph.D. research work in this lab.

C-Lab-I/II/III

C-Lab-I/II/III are specifically designed for under graduate students to carry out their university curriculum. The labs are well equipped with net meeting studio, high end internet connectivity, Connected through LAN Covering complete college campus, Video Conferencing Studio In Association with IIT Mumbai, latest configuration hardware and required software’s such as C, C++, Java, HTML, Visual basic etc. The labs are designed in classroom teaching pattern. The labs are equipped with latest teaching tools such as LCD projectors, sound system, net meeting studio etc.

Apart from university curriculum, this labs are also used for conducting various national level competitive exams through Tata Consultancy Service and MKCl.

Language Lab

Considering the importance of communication skill to the engineering students, college has designed well equipped language lab with the capacity of 40 students. Technical communication is one of those courses that are essential for all students. With the advent of new technologies, the world is shrinking into a global village. Therefore, the need for effective communication is becoming all the more essential. Students feel the need for communicating successfully through oral and written media in their academic tasks everyday’s.

The main aim is to enable the students to face the challenges in communication in their academics and professional career as well. On completion of communication skills lab, students will be able to demonstrate adequate skills in oral and written communication. They will actively participate in group discussion and interviews and exhibit the evidence of vocabulary building.

EDC Lab

An understanding of electronic devices and circuits can most easily be achived by learning how to design circuits. Practical circuit design gives students a broader perpective of what they learnt in theory classes. Assembling various circuit components for a targeted application is fascinating job.

In electronic lab, students are provided with the kits so as to fascilitate proper and easy understanding behaviour. Students can refer to various charts in the lab while performing practical’s. LED displays are used to indicate outputs of the circuits. Students enjoy working with circuits and gain ample of knowledge about various electronic components and integrated circuits.

STLD Lab

Logic design is the foundation of basic design techniques. Digital circuits are gaining popularity because of numerous evidence and are based on switching theory. Switching devices used in digital systems are generally two-state devices. In the STLD lab, starting from basic converter circuits to sophisticated PLDs are available.

Students can design combinational as well as requested circuits with the help of component ICs. Various components like logic gates, MUX, DMUS, ENCODER, DECODER, Flip-Flops, and Counters are available in IC form.

The use of programmable logic devices is preferred over fixed-function ICs because of many advantages. FPGA is a general-purpose PLD used in the lab for design purposes. The design process includes computer coding and compilation and then burning the machine code on the PLD. Programming of PLD and output devices interfacing is very interesting and provides students with a professional designer’s view.

ADIC Lab

Miniaturization is an advantageous factor regarding electronic circuits. Most of the electronic components or circuits are now a day’s available in the form of ICs. Hence the study of ICs has become essential. Analog as well as digital ICs are available in a wide range of variety and prove to be an easy tool for basic circuit designers. Circuit design using ICs is comparatively simple and requires less space.

General-purpose ICs are easily available at an affordable price. In the ADIC lab, students enjoy hands-on practice with different ICs. Analog ICs like 555 timers, 565 PLAs, 741 OP-Amp, Voltage regulators, etc, and digital ICs like logic gates, shift registers, counters flip-flops are used to design various circuits in the lab.
