The department mission is to be a leader in education and research intake of undergraduate course (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) is 60 in addition to this the department has central workshop facility having various shops equipped with the production lathe, universal milling machine, TIG and MIG welding machine. The department has well qualified faculty, all of them are with ME / M.Tech degrees. Many of our faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. The faculty members are experienced having expertise in design, thermal, industrial, production and are engage in research work in the area s of solar energy, heat transfer, material science, quality and reliability air pollution control, ergonomics manufacturing , automation , and machine design etc apart from teaching. The department has well-furnished CAD/CAM lab consisting of various software’s.
All of the educational programs in the department prepare students for professional practice in an era of rapidly advancing technology. They combine a strong base in the engineering sciences (mechanics, materials, fluid and thermal sciences, systems and control) with project-based laboratory and design experiences. All strive to develop independence, creative talent, and leadership, as well as the capability for continuing professional growth.
Design, Manufacturing, and Product Development is the complete set of activities needed to bring new devices, technologies, and services to the marketplace. These activities span the entire product life-cycle, from the identification of a market opportunity or need, through design, testing, manufacture and distribution, and end of useful life.

In addition to this the department has a central workshop facility having various shops viz: Machine shop, Turning shop, Carpentry shop, Pattern making shop, Smithy shop, Foundry shop, Sheet metal shop, Welding and CNC Machine shop well equipped with the basic infrastructure to impart technical training to the students of all disciplines. The workshop has advanced machines also viz: Universal milling machine, Mini portable furnace, TIG & MIG welding machine, wood working machine, various power operated hand tools, Capstan and production lathes to give exposure and training to the students.
