VISION :

The vision of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to be regionally, nationally and internationally recognize in providing Mechanical Engineering Education; Leading to well qualified Engineers who are innovative and immediate contributors to their profession and successful in advanced studies.

MISSION :

The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering program is to educate, prepare, inspire, and mentor students to excel as professionals and to grow throughout their carriers in the Art, Science and responsibilities of Engineering. Engaging in academic and scholarly activities, which strengthen the major regional, national, and international reputation. Provide an intellectual environment to students and impart quality education in Mechanical Engineering to produce professionals who are competent in the design, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and to contribute towards the society.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES :

  • Graduates will be Engineering Professionals, Practitioners, Leaders, Innovators and Entrepreneurs engaged in Technology Development and Technological deployment of Engineering System implementation in Industry.
  • Graduates will function in their profession with social awareness and responsibility.
  • Graduates will interact with their peers in other disciplines in industry and society and contribute to the economic growth of the Nation.
  • Graduates will be successful in pursuing higher studies in Engineering, Management, Teaching or Research.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES :

  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering,
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  • An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability,
  • An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams,
  • An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems,
  • An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility,
  • An ability to communicate effectively,
  • An ability to apply their broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context,
  • A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning,
  • A knowledge of contemporary issues,
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
The department mission is to be a leader in education and research intake of undergraduate course (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) is 60 in addition to this the department has central workshop facility having various shops equipped with the production lathe, universal milling machine, TIG and MIG welding machine. The department has well qualified faculty, all of them are with ME / M.Tech degrees. Many of our faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. The faculty members are experienced having expertise in design, thermal, industrial, production and are engage in research work in the area s of solar energy, heat transfer, material science, quality and reliability air pollution control, ergonomics manufacturing , automation , and machine design etc apart from teaching. The department has well-furnished CAD/CAM lab consisting of various software’s.
All of the educational programs in the department prepare students for professional practice in an era of rapidly advancing technology. They combine a strong base in the engineering sciences (mechanics, materials, fluid and thermal sciences, systems and control) with project-based laboratory and design experiences. All strive to develop independence, creative talent, and leadership, as well as the capability for continuing professional growth.
Design, Manufacturing, and Product Development is the complete set of activities needed to bring new devices, technologies, and services to the marketplace. These activities span the entire product life-cycle, from the identification of a market opportunity or need, through design, testing, manufacture and distribution, and end of useful life.
The department has well qualified faculties; all of them are with M. E. / M. Tech. degrees. Many of our faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. The faculty members are experienced having expertise in Design/Thermal/Industrial/Production and are engaged in research work in the areas of Solar Energy, Heat Transfer, Material Science, Quality and Reliability, Air pollution control, Ergonomics, Manufacturing, Automation and Mechanism Design etc apart from teaching.
